Cats on Tuesday

sleeping on the job

I was caught sleeping on the job!!!!

Papa did a stupid thing by jumping on the lake with his wallet still in his backpocket. Everything got wet. In order for them to dry, he laid down these items on top of a newspaper and placed them on top of the bed next to the window where the sun puddles go. Then I was instructed to guard these items that were drying and to make sure none of them flies away. You see there is mama's picture there too :)

But when Papa came back from a little loo break, he found me sleeping on the job!  So glad my pawrents can't fire me for a lousy job.  Do you kitties get little jobs from your pawrents too?  Do you do a great job?

I am linking this to CATS ON TUESDAY.

  1. Buster, we are sure your ears were still awake!
Our jobs are mainly gravity-related, like sitting on things so they don't move. You know, papers and such.

pee ess: Our Mommy has washed Daddy's wallet a few times!

  2. I don't think sleeping counts as not doing your job, Buster - you still would have sensed any trouble or any intruders!

  3. We agree with Sparkle--you'd have sensed an introoder for sure. Actually, you probably were just faking, to lull someone into a false sense of security. Then...Whap! Pounce! Claw!

    Right? ;-p

  6. Awww...Buster, you are cute even if you did sleep on the job. However, you didn't really sleep on the job. You're just resting your eyes making any possible intruders think you're sleeping.

Mama learned a long time ago not to give us any jobs except to purr and eat treats given to us.

  7. Honestly? A soft beddy on a warm afternoon? Are you kiddin'?

HE'S the one who jumped in the lake with this stuff. Why should YOU have to watch over it? As if!

  9. Buster,
My Mama is a slave driver! We had to wake her up for brekky every morning, snoopervise her cleaning our litter boxes, munch her plants, throw up on the floor to make sure she'll clean it. There's no such thing as a free lunch. We have to work so hard. purrr *giggles*

  10. Obviously an intruder would be so fixated on that stripey mancat tummy that they'd forget the wallet!

  14. Buster looks very cute napping there.
Sleeping seems an appropriate way to wait for things to dry out.

  15. Our Queen Uno is ALWAYS at work, she works EVEN as she sleeps, atleast that's her story, and she's sticking too it:).

  16. Just because your eyes are closed doesn't mean you aren't alert to the goings on around you... :)

  17. Buster, you are doing a good job there. Nothing flew away, right?? If something had, you would have been awake in no time!! We hope you got lots of treats for all your efforts.

  18. Buster, we know you were "just resting your eyes," right? Besides, isn't one of the most important job for us cats to sleep? :)
